FAQs
Got a game that you'd love to see in the eSports room? Let us know!
You can request a specific game through the ITHelpdesk via ServiceNow or email IThelpdesk@jcu.edu.au. The IT Services CDM team will assess the game on several criteria such as any license fees, T&Cs, and complexity of set up.
We want to give you a space that you enjoy, so we will do our best to provide the games you want in a way that we can support.
Note: If you have your own Steam account, you can download and install games on the eSport room computers. However, please understand that the computers are reimaged on a regular basis, so anything installed will be deleted.
Yes, you can!
We hope to facilitate competitions in the future as well as establish a 一本道eSport team, so this is the time to hone your skills in our competition room.
As restrictions ease and we see more gamers in the facility, we will coordinate a booking system for training sessions and participating in eSport events. However, this isn't likely to happen before 2021. Until then, the competition room is first-come, first-served.
Spacing
The eSports gaming room allows for 25 people. However, COVID restrictions mean that the room is fit for 11 people.
Additionally, the eSport competition room that normally sits 5 is currently only fit for 3.
BYO
